[Nathan comes into the kitchen where Haley is folding laundry. She jumps when she sees him]
Haley: What are you doing home?
Nathan: Do you remember that green dress you wore to that mathketball school with Jamie.
H: The Openhiemer School, yeah.
N: You looked amazing in that dress. I was thinking we could take a trip to Charlotte. You could wear that dress, and we could take Jamie.
H: Nathan, what happened?
N: I’m not on the Chiefs anymore.
[Haley sighs and starts to walk towards him]
H: I’m sorry, baby-
N: It’s okay. What do you say, Haley James? You wanna take the boy to Charlotte. Maybe we could see a basketball game. [Haley looks confused and turns back towards the laundry hamper] Oh, and I kind of have to be there anyway considering i’m the Bobcat’s new point guard.
H: What?
N: I’m the point guard for the Charlotte Bobcats. I got called up.
H: [About to cry] You’re in the NBA?
N: I’m in the NBA.
[Haley puts her hands on her head and starts to cry. Nathan laughs and he walks over to hug her.]
N: Thank you. Thank you for believing in me, Haley.
H: Thank you for being worth it!
[They both laugh. They kiss and then Haley jumps up and wraps her legs around his as they hug]

H: Sorry. [Pours a smoothie into a glass] Lucky for you, this cures that.

N: I am wiped out. I just gotta win this last game. Otherwise Whitey has to retire without making the playoffs.
H: Well, we can’t let that happen. [She gets up on the counter behind him to give him a back rub] Where does it hurt.
N: Everywhere.
H: You guys are playing Oak Lake tonight.
N: Yeah. They’re undefeated.
H: And my boyfriend, Damien West; He’s good?
N: Yeah, he’s pretty good. He’s an ass though. Sort of like a young version of my dad.
H: You know it’s actually hurt me to see what’s happened with your relationship with Dan. I just- especially now that you’re playing so well, you should be able to enjoy that with your father.
N: Yeah. It’s a little late for that though. Probably just as well. With the way i’ve been feeling, I don’t think I have another great game in me.
H: I don’t believe that for a second! [They both laugh and she wraps her arms around him] Besides, I’m going to help you. And Damien West doesn’t stand a chance.
N: I love you, you know that?
H: Mmm, I love you, too.
N: You always help me.
H: [laughs] Damn it, you need to put a shirt on! You’re too sexy. God!
[They both laugh and she runs down the hallway]

Priest: I’m sorry. I don’t quite know how to tell you this, but you failed.
[Nathan and Haley look shocked]
Haley: You’re kidding.
P: I’m sorry, no. According to the test, you two are highly incompatible.
[Haley scoffs]
H: I’ve never actually failed a test before.
N: Father, can I ask you a question? When you decided you wanted to be a priest, how did you know it was the right thing to do?
P: I asked if I believed in god.
N: Can you prove that to us? With a test, I mean?
P: Of course not.
N: Just like you can’t prove love with a test. I mean, this is just a score on a sheet of paper. Sure, Haley and I have our differences, but this test doesn’t show how hard we’ve worked to keep this relationship together. [Haley touches his arm] Or that I can’t stand it when we’re apart. And that every time I look at her, I know that i’m gonna be with her for the rest of my life. [Haley smiles at him] We love each other, father. No test is gonna prove that.
P: Let me see that test. [He takes the test and rips it up] Thanks. For passing the real test.
[They both look relieved]
P: You two have a wonderful ceremony. [He shakes Nathan’s hand] Congratulations. [He shakes Haley’s hand]
H: Thank you.
N: Thank you.
[Haley grabs Nathan’s tie and he pulls her into his chest]
